The Healthy Aging and Longevity (HALO) Research Institute at the University of Washington was founded in 2016 by former UW faculty member, Dr. Matt Kaeberlein. Our mission is to enhance understanding of the biological mechanisms of aging in order to promote healthy longevity. HALO resides in the UW School of Medicine and is home to two major National Institute on Aging initiatives: the UW Nathan Shock Center of Excellence in the Basic Biology of Aging and the Biological Mechanisms of Healthy Aging Training Program. Please navigate our dropdown menus for further information. Thank you for visiting our site!
Please consider supporting HALO. By donating to HALO you can help us in our mission to improve human health and longevity. Funds can be dedicated to training for students, specific research initiatives, or general HALO operations. All donations to the University of Washington are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
