George M Martin Memorial Geroscience Symposium

Each fall, the center hosts the George M. Martin Geroscience Symposium here in Seattle and virtually. The symposium is sponsored by the UW NSC and the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, the late George M. Martin’s home for all his exceptional academic life.

Thank you to our in-person and virtual guests for attending our annual George Martin Memorial Geroscience Symposium last Friday, September 25th! The program featured keynote talks by Dr. Mariya Sweetwyne, the George M. Martin Endowed Assistant Professor, and Dr. Jessica Young, co-director of the BMHA T32 program and the UW Nathan Shock Center (NSC), accompanied by a collection of talks from: NSC- Explainable AI in Aging core pilot awardee Dr. Claire Han, current and alumni T32 trainees in a variety of specialties, University of Washington research faculty, a Career Panel representing both academia and industry, and a trainee poster session and reception.

A special thank you to our guest speakers for taking the time to share their exciting work with us and our sponsors for making this an event we look forward to every year!
