Administrative Core

The Administrative Core provides effective leadership, administration and management of the Center. This Core supports the External Advisory Board of distinguished scientists who provide review and recommendations to the executive leadership of the Center and engages in outreach activities, including workshops, courses, lectures and symposia. The Administrative Core also oversees and ensures dissemination of Center resources and research findings to the geroscience community and collaborates with other funded Nathan Shock Centers.

This core houses our biostatistical team that supports our pilot projects:

Core personnel Theo Bammler, PhD, and James MacDonald, MS, are providing comprehensive data analysis support for all omics related projects and beyond. These services include:

  • Experimental design consultation prior to samples being collected
  • Performing quality control of omics data
  • Rigorous statistical analysis of omics data including transcriptomics (both bulk and single cell transcriptomics data), genomics, epigenomics, proteomics, and metabolomics data
  • Statistical analysis of spatial transcriptomics and spatial proteomics data 
  • Bioinformatics analysis of omics data
  • Integrative analysis of multi-omics data
  • Assisting with the interpretation of complex omics data
  • Statistical analysis of non-omics data
  • Assisting with the preparation of abstracts and manuscripts
  • Supporting the preparation of grant proposals

Core Personnel: The Core is directed by Dr. Jessica Young and Dr. Dave Marcinek. Ms. Rose Anderson provides administrative support. Biostatistical support provided by Dr. Theo Bammler and Mr. James MacDonald.
